GREECE

ETHNICON METSOVION POLYTECHNION (NTUA)

Website

The National Technical University of Athens, one of Greece’s most prestigious and historic academic institutions, participates in the project with the Decision Support Systems Laboratory (EPU-NTUA) team of its School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. EPU-NTUA specializes in interdisciplinary research on decision support systems, energy policy, AI applications, and digital innovation, with a strong track record in coordinating large-scale European research and innovation projects.

In the EnerTEF project, NTUA acts as the Project Coordinator, overseeing the strategic, scientific, and administrative implementation of the initiative. NTUA also leads the BUILD Node, the Greek core node, which focuses on the development and real-world validation of AI solutions for energy efficiency in buildings. The latter role renders NTUA the coordinator of a multi-stakeholder collaboration across Athens city authorities and energy providers to pilot and refine AI tools in various types of buildings.

Luxembourg

EUROPEAN DYNAMICS LUXEMBOURG SA (ED)

EUROPEAN DYNAMICS Luxembourg S.A. (ED) is an international ICT company that designs, develops, and supports software systems and e-business solutions for governments, international organizations, and enterprises. Headquartered in Luxembourg, ED operates globally and is recognized for its expertise in e-government platforms, secure data management, and large-scale digital infrastructure development.

In the EnerTEF project, ED acts as the Technical Coordinator, responsible for the development and integration of the central platform that enables access to AI services across the TEF network. ED provides the cross-node IT infrastructure essential to the functioning of all EnerTEF Nodes. The company leads the creation of a federated data space and AI services marketplace, and also leads the design of the federated architecture.

PORTUGAL

INSTITUTO DE ENGENHARIA DE SISTEMAS E COMPUTADORES, TECNOLOGIA E CIENCIA (INESC TEC)

INESC TEC – Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science is a renowned Portuguese research and technology organization based in Porto. With a strong focus on applied research and technology transfer, INESC TEC brings together academia, industry, and public administration to develop innovative solutions in energy, information systems, robotics, and AI. The institute has a long history of contributing to national and European energy research initiatives.

In the EnerTEF project, INESC TEC plays a critical role as the administrator of the RES Node, focusing on Operators and Tech Developers of renewable energy systems. It provides virtual infrastructure that supports the modeling, simulation, and validation of AI services in the renewable energy domain. INESC TEC focuses on the integration of virtual testing facilities into the federated EnerTEF network, enabling interoperability across nodes and enhancing the robustness of AI experimentation in the project.

PORTUGAL

COMPANHIA DA ENERGIA OCEANICA SA (CEO)

In the EnerTEF project, CEO is a core participant in the RES Node in Portugal, providing real-world ocean energy facilities for the testing and validation of AI solutions. As a wave energy technology provider, CEO enables the deployment of AI services in a dynamic offshore environment, helping validate performance, efficiency, and reliability.

In the EnerTEF project, Rebase Energy contributes as a specialized AI developer, supporting the RES Node. The company provides advanced AI models that enhance the planning and optimisation of distributed energy systems.

CORPOWER OCEAN AB (CPO)

In the EnerTEF project, CorPower Ocean contributes to the RES Node, bringing its wave energy technology into real-world AI testing environments. CorPower is a turnkey supplier of wave energy systems, focusing on testing a patented buoy for wave energy on-site. As a designer and provider of renewable energy products, CorPower enables demonstrations of AI-enhanced control, monitoring, and forecasting systems for offshore energy.

LUXEMBOURG

LUXEMBOURG INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (LIST)

In the EnerTEF project, ComSensus is a vital member of the TSO Node in Slovenia, delivering key ICT components that enhance coordination between transmission and distribution system operators. The company is responsible for ensuring the AI experiments ethical, legal and regulatory compliance to applicable frameworks, and focuses on the development of a security layer for federated data access. Additionally, ComSensus is charge with the development of an AI-driven recommendation engine that offers SMEs/Startups service development consultation.

Slovenia

ELES DOO OPERATER KOMBINIRANEGA PRENOSNEGA IN DISTRIBUCIJSKEGA ELEKTROENERGETSKEGA OMREZJA (ELES)

In the EnerTEF project, ELES is the core partner leading the TSO Node in Slovenia, enabling large-scale demonstrations of AI services for transmission and distribution coordination. The company functions as the TEF node host, data, and computing facility provider, bringing real grid infrastructure into the federated platform. ELES is also charged with the integration of the physical testing facilities.

Its high-performance computing resources, specifically designed for AI workloads, will play a central role in federating the creation of the regulatory sandbox.

Elektro Gorenjska (EG)

In the EnerTEF project, Elektro Gorenjska is a core partner of the TSO Node in Slovenia, assisting the creation of a robust TSO-DSO coordination framework for AI testing and validation. Its involvement ensures that AI-based solutions are tested across real DSO infrastructure, with a view to enhancing grid efficiency.

GERMANY

RHEINISCH-WESTFÄLISCHE TECHNISCHE HOCHSCHULE AACHEN (RWTH)

RWTH Aachen University, through its Institute for Automation of Complex Power Systems (ACS), is a leading German research institution at the forefront of energy systems automation, smart grid technologies, and cyber-physical energy infrastructure. ACS specializes in system-level innovation and is deeply engaged in European research projects targeting digitalization and the energy transition.

In the EnerTEF project, RWTH coordinates activities within the DSO Node, which enable AI companies developing services for DSOs to speed up and finetune, as well as demonstrate use cases in a near-real world environment. Furthermore, the university is charged with the seamless federated integration of all Nodes and Satellites. Finally, RWTH supports on data governance frameworks and develops the AI experimentation workbench—a core environment for designing and running AI energy service trials.

In the EnerTEF project, GridHound contributes to the DSO Node in Germany, and develops smart solutions for strategic planning, project management, data quality management, data analytics, grid planning and control for electric grids, with focus primarily on the medium and low-voltage sections. The company implements and tests its grid solutions within real and simulated environments, validating performance in coordination with utilities and lab partners. GridHound enhances the EnerTEF platform through applied, field-oriented AI integration.

In the EnerTEF project, PPC plays a dual role. First, it is a key partner in the BUILD Node, collaborating with the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) to develop and test AI-driven solutions for building energy efficiency. Second, it contributes to the RES Node supporting the integration and testing of AI services in renewable energy systems. PPC provides its extensive infrastructure and expertise to facilitate the deployment and validation of AI services in real-world settings. The company focuses on the demonstration of AI-enabled services in both building energy management systems and renewable energy applications.

Additionally, it acts as an end-user that provides the specifications of services to meet city-level objectives.

The company coordinates pilot activities across all nodes and satellites to demonstrate the AI services in real-time or near-real time operational environments.

UNIVERSITÉ DE TECHNOLOGIE DE BELFORT-MONTBÉLIARD (UTBM)

In the EnerTEF project, UTBM hosts the TEF H2 satellite in France, which brings an innovative approach harnessing the adaptability of hydrogen systems as vital components of a broader energy infrastructure, targeting key goals in energy efficiency and sustainability. Eventually, UTBM contributes to demonstrations on the hydrogen satellite to test AI services for hydrogen energy applications.

PANEPISTIMIO PATRON (LMS)

The Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems & Automation (LMS), part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics at the University of Patras, is a leading Greek research center specializing in advanced manufacturing systems, industrial automation, and energy efficiency. LMS focuses on the development of innovative manufacturing processes, simulation, robotics, and AI-driven tools for smart factories. It operates a fully equipped machine shop and virtual reality infrastructure, supporting both physical and digital experimentation in industrial settings.

In the EnerTEF project, LMS operates a TEF IND satellite in Greece, focusing on energy efficiency in manufacturing processes. It provides both physical and virtual infrastructure to support AI experimentation in industrial energy optimization. Additionally, LMS is conducting demonstrations on manufacturing energy use-cases to test AI services for energy optimization in industrial environments. Lastly, LMS galvanizes awareness creation, knowledge transfer and dialogue among stakeholders.
