About

Project Objectives

The EnerTEF project is structured around eight interconnected objectives, each contributing to our overarching vision.

01

Reference Architecture

Establish a Reference Architecture (RA) for an Open Interoperable Common Federated European-scale Energy AI TEF accessible to all the players of the energy ecosystem.

02

Compliance Framework

Establish a regulatory/legal/ethical compliance framework contributing to the effective implementation of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act) in the development lifecycle of trustworthy AI-powered services.

03

Energy Hub

Leverage local node-level energy infrastructures availability, energy stakeholders’ know-how and ENERSHARE Data Space Building Blocks to instrument an open, standardisable and Energy Data Space compliant interoperability and trust infrastructure for the adaptation and upscale of data-driven trustworthy AI-powered services and Apps.

04

EnerTEF Integration

Integrate, deploy, operate and maintain the Federated Common European-scale Energy AI Testing and Experimentation Facility (EnerTEF), facilitating regulatory sandboxes for supervised testing and experimentation in real environments.

05

Orchestration Layer

Develop an Orchestration Layer for the effective yet coordinated management of and seamless access to the Physical and Digital Resources (energy assets, datasets, ML/DL/FL models and digital infrastructures) of the federated TEF nodes through the EnerTEF One-Stop-Shop Multi-Assets Marketplace.

06

Services Catalogue

Shape the EnerTEF Services Catalogue and define the respective testing scenarios, protocols and metrics through a Co-creation AI Living Lab, engaging technology end-users -, both B2B energy stakeholders and B2C energy consumers- and AI technology providers.

07

EnerTEF Nodes

Undertake tests and experiments within real/close-to-real large-scale environments (EnerTEF Nodes) to advance, optimise, validate and demonstrate AI-based services, solutions and technologies for a greener, smarter, more resilient and flexible energy system.

08

Digital Innovation Hubs

Leverage on the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) and promote the long-term sustainability of the EnerTEF by creating sound business models, by designing access pricing models and by attracting funding and innovative players
