EnerTEF at GoToTwin Project Workshop!

On 3 December 2025, the GoToTwin project hosted the workshop “Digital Twins for the Energy Transition” in Ljubljana (Jožef Stefan Institute). During Session 1, Matija Cankar (JSI) presented how digital twins will be applied within EnerTEF under the topic “Transmission network Energy testing facilities and Regulatory Sandboxes (EnerTEF)”.

EnerTEF focus: from concept to real-world validation
Beyond the conceptual framework, the presentation introduced the Slovenian EnerTEF node and the services being jointly developed by JSI, ComSensus, ELES, and Elektro Gorenjska. A key focus was how the EnerTEF regulatory sandbox will be integrated to test and validate AI-based services in a controlled, real-world transmission network environment, supporting credible experimentation, evidence-building, and safer deployment pathways.

The session concluded with a clear overview of how external stakeholders can engage with EnerTEF, including:

  • Accessing data (where applicable and under the relevant governance rules).
  • Co-developing services and solutions to be tested and validated through the EnerTEF node and sandbox approach.

Thank you to all participants for the constructive discussions, and to the GoToTwin consortium for the kind invitation.
